Incorporating 20 years of feedback from users who are industry leaders in the fiber optic connector assembly and testing market, the RLM represents an all-new generation of IL/RL meters. Improvements to key hardware components enable it to operate twice as fast as other test solutions. Leveraging a new patented calibration method, it allows for self-calibration, achieving a single-mode return loss (RL) measurement accuracy of up to 85 dB. Additional enhancements—such as a front-panel touchscreen and user-friendly software—make it an ideal tool for both production environments and laboratories.
Features & Benefits:
(1) Self-Calibration: The device eliminates the need to be sent back to Santec for annual calibration. (2) Optimized Speed & Accuracy: In fast mode, it measures IL/RL in less than 1.5 seconds per wavelength; for 12 fibers, IL/RL measurement at dual wavelengths takes only 35 seconds (single-mode / SM). (3) Polarity Testing: The new RD-P remote probe polarity detector works in conjunction with the RLM and OSX optical switch. (4) No Minimum Length Restriction: The RLM has no minimum length limit, making it ideal for "no-wrap" testing of short DUTs (Devices Under Test). (5) Integrated Integrating Sphere Detector: An integrating sphere detector comes as a standard configuration for the RLM. (6) ERP or MES Integration: The eXtensible Network Server (XNS) serves as a database for storing test plans, results, and more. (7) Modular Chassis Design: The OSX optical switch can be directly connected to the RLM for multi-fiber testing. The RLM fully controls the optical switch, automatically performing measurements while storing all references and results. A second OSX switch can be connected for more advanced configurations if needed. The enclosures of the RLM and OSX are carefully designed to allow these units to be safely stacked together, minimizing the system’s footprint.
