The PLM Polarization Dependent Loss Meter builds on the stable and proven technology of the BRM (Backreflection Meter) and takes it to the next level. Enhanced light source isolation, electronics, optics, and continuous laser power referencing improve performance, enabling the most repeatable and stable measurements.
The base model is capable of PLM (Polarization Dependent Loss), IL (Insertion Loss), and average IL measurements with a resolution of 0.001 dB, along with unmatched PDL accuracy of up to ±(0.005 + 2% of PDL).
The backreflection (BR) option allows BR measurements ranging from 0 to -75 dB, with an accuracy of ±0.4 dB.
The PLM supports the combination of up to 4 external inputs (1260–1650 nm) or internal light sources (1310/1490/1550/1625 nm), plus dual-output options, for maximum flexibility. Custom wavelengths are available upon request.
An intuitive touchscreen display simplifies operation. The device can also be controlled via remote interfaces (Ethernet or USB) and used with our free GMS software for automated measurements.
